My birthday present
“My birthday present was my birthday.
On my birthday, when we were eating the cake, Eli went crazy. So crazy that he tried to eat candles! (This is Eli - i kinda feel offended:).
My birthday was a school day so i didn’t get much time with my family on my birthday. But my mom promised that it would be my birthday again on the weekend. So on the day of my birthday i woke up and i was like ITS MY BIRTHDAY and I froze cause I was so excited.
I came out and my brother was like CLOSE YOUR EYES! And they started playing they say it’s your birthday on the speaker. Then Eli let go of my eyes and it was so fun because there were balloons everywhere and streamers everywhere. I saw 5 presents in front of me and I was like YAY because we were not going to get a lot of presents because we were coming to Costa Rica. And i got a lot of presents to me because we were only supposed to get like 2 but I got 5. One of them is a VERY cute capybara that I named coconut. Here is a picture of the capybara named Coconut and his friend Boba.
At school, it was only my second day. And everyone was like “it’s your birthday and it’s only the second day of school!” But it was only the second day of school to me. Half way through the school day, a friend took me to the office and i was like “why am i going to the office?” And when she took me in, she said something in Spanish. I didn’t understand, but one of the teachers called me over and gave me a pencil and a small eraser. It was a smelly eraser and smelled like oranges. YUM!
The rest of the day I was super happy because all of my friends were partying with me even though it wasn’t a party really because I was in school.
When I got home, my parents told me the schedule of the rest of the day. They told me we were going to have a yummy yummy dinner/soup. I love soup that comes from down here, and rice and beans! They are so much better than back in Charlottesville. And they also told me that after dinner there wasn’t going to be any dessert, but i knew they were lying. Cause they said it in the voice tone that makes me know they’re lying:) But they also told me that after dinner the other treat is that I get to choose the movie and we get to have popcorn with it. YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM.

Ok. On the weekend, we went to this GIGANTIC waterpark. There was like 2 million slides there. There was 5 that you had to climb up like 20 stairs cases. Some were 2 staircases, some were 10 or 15. But it was definitely worth it. One of the slide that you had to climb a lot of stairs for, you went down a big turn and then you go shot out into a gigantic funnel. The second time i went down on the slide, I got shot out but there is a curve at the end of the funnel so you don’t fling out of it. I went on that curve, and opened my eyes and i was going so fast and was upside down! Thankfully I didn’t fall on my face and get hurt real bad. I was super scared and fell back into the funnel but wasn’t upside down.
Ok, i have to pause now and eat dinner. NOM NOM NOMThe first time I dropped down I did a belly flop on the water, and we were waiting and waiting and waiting for mom to fall out of the funnel. And when she finally fell out, she moved out of the position she was supposed to stay in and covered her face since she was so scared.
Yum, dinner was delicious. Dad is a good cooker
All in all my birthday was…ughh, maybe not the funnest birthday, but it was really nice.
